Wunnerful, wunnerful!

It was a wunnerful day on Easter Sunday.  We celebrated the resurrection of Jesus from the dead!!  We had a monsterous brunch at the Green Mill, and then proceeded home to take a nap.  It was so awesomely nice out I took mine outside on the trampoline with a blanket, the newspaper, and Isabelle, the cat.

Later on, we had another swell meal.  I recruited some help... Landon made a cake the day before!  This was quite the deal for him, actually following a recipe.  Look how he is concentrating!  He did a nice job.
Brian made jello... he once was supposed to bring a dish to a potluck and made jello-- his friends were so impressed, and gave him a jello recipe book for his birthday.  So now he is our official jello maker!
Leanne set the table...
Bill and Bryce peeled potatoes... Heather and the kids were on their way to the cities so couldn't be with us :(

I made pull-apart hot cross buns...but I left out the dried currants because they didn't have any at grocery store(?) and didn't have time to go around town looking for currants!
...and regular dinner rolls...
We also had gourmet yellow-fleshed Idaho mashed potatoes...yum!
Bill grilled some pork loin chops with garlic butter...
...and peas...
and Brian's amazing jello with lots of strawberries in it...
and we were so full we had to wait until later to have Landon's Lemon Poppyseed Cake Deluxe...it was delicious.
And then the Easter egg hunt!  Did someone say teenagers are too old to hunt for Easter eggs?  Not mine.
Leanne and Richie, getting eggs out of the bird feeder...
Richie is a college friend of Landon's-he's from Liberia and we were really glad he could join us.  Beyond them is our neighbor's corn field to the south where the honey wagon as Bill calls it has been out spreading freshness this past week, and unfortunately for us we have had nice breeze from the south!
This one didn't get quite in focus...but he was only pausing a moment during the egg hunt frenzy.
Then later on we played The Farming Game with friend, Jake, and then a couple more friends came so Bill and I let them take over our farms and we went to bed! The game kept going until close to 1 a.m. but I was fast asleep by then!
Wunnerful! Yay for a good God, good food, good family, good friends and chocolate Easter eggs.

So happy to hear you had a wunnerful Easter. Love the pics of the food, the teens, the guests and the game playing. But, my most favorite pic? The one of Bill & Bryce peeling potatoes. Good job, Laurie, for putting those men to work! ;o)
